I want to use a Dell P2714H HD and a Dell P2715Q 4k monitor together on my new Mac Pro.
This is so that I can see the differences between the two.
I want to know firstly if they can work together and second, what are the pitfalls involved?
Has anyone encountered this, I'd really love to know.
I will be using Yosemite with the latest operating system.
iOS 9.3.3, Mac Pro
They will work fine when both connected tot a late 2103 Mac Pro.
For the 4K monitor just use a cable wit a mini displayport on each end and connect it a Thunderbolt port
For the other monitor get a cable with a mini displayport on one end and displayport on the other end. That monitor has a displayport input so use that.
Connect each monitor to a different Thunderbolt bus
Do you know if there are any pitfalls in operation using an HD and 4K together?
None at all. On my 2013 I have a Dell 24" 4K monitor and a HP 1080p monitor, similar to what you listed.
